We are seeking an knowledgeable and experienced Public Relations Coordinator to join our team and grow our hospital!

Responsibilities of this position include the following for a qualified self-starter with lots of ideas and follow-through:

1. Plans and organizes public relations programs designed to create and maintain favorable public image for Lake Butler Hospital (LBH).

1. Plans and oversees development and communication of information designed to keep the public informed of LBH's programs, accomplishments, or point of view.

1. Coordinates public relations efforts in order to meet needs, objectives, and policies of individuals, special interest groups, business concerns, or nonprofit organizations.

1. Prepares and distributes fact sheets, news releases, photographs, scripts, videos, recordings, or website addresses or articles to media representatives and other people who may be interested in learning about or publicizing LBH's activities or message.

1. Purchases advertising space and time as required.

1. Arranges for and conducts public-contact programs designed to meet LBH's objectives, utilizing knowledge of changing attitudes and opinions of consumers, clients, employees, or other interest groups.

1. Promotes goodwill through such publicity efforts as speeches, exhibits, films, tours, and question/answer sessions.

1. Represents LBH during community projects or events and at public, social, and business gatherings.

1. Research data, create ideas, write copy, lay out artwork, contact media representatives, or represent LBH directly before general public.

1. May develop special projects such as campaign fundraisers or public awareness about critical health care issues.

1. May direct activities of other departments in support of public relations activities.

1. Represents LBH in community organizations.

1. Prepares press releases and fact sheets and compose letters.

1. Disseminates facts and information about LBH's activities or health care to the general public.

1. Manages the social media accounts of LBH.

1. Manages grants and funds associated with public relations responsibilities for LBH.

1. May meet with families or potential patients to provide additional information regarding the facility and programs.

Requirements:

The position requires the following:

Education - Requires associate degree in marketing, communications, or similar. Undergraduate degree is preferred.

Experience - Minimum of 5 years providing Public Relations, Community Education, Marketing or similar activities for a health care facility. Experience in critical access hospitals or rehabilitation facilities preferred.

Skills - Excellent public speaking skills. Excellent grammar and communication skills. Ability to write and communicate for a variety of skill and knowledge levels.

Knowledge - Knowledge of hospital practices and procedures. General knowledge of health care offerings and successful outcomes.

Abilities - Accurate and meticulous to detail. Self-starter. Displays responsibility to confidentiality aspects of medical/financial information. Pleasant attitude in dealing with the public and various levels of staff. Ability to organize and work independently. Excellent ideas and follow-through to complete them.
