LOCATION: New York City

SALARY: The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000.

We are seeking a Marketing Manager to assist our Marketing team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the legal field and have demonstrated proficiency utilizing our Firm’s applications. This position will report to Director of Marketing.

 

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage a variety of marketing, public relations, and business development projects.
  • Work with attorneys to plan and produce attorney speaking engagements, panels, webinars, client events, and conferences—including venue selection, contract negotiation, catering arrangements, distribution of invitations, presentation support, and selection and purchase of gifts and promotional items.
  • Manage sponsorships for practice groups and individual attorneys.
  • Manage leadership list and ranking submissions (e.g., Chambers USA, Legal 500, WTR 1000, Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers/Best Law Firms)
  • Manage Marketing Coordinator and other staff.
  • Administer Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs and ensure compliance with New York and California State CLE board rules.
  • Manage firm website and firm social media channels in support of public relations and marketing strategy.
  • Update firm intranet as required.
  • Maintain the firm blog platform (Passle):  set up new users, provide training, analyze readership data, and generate reports.
  • Direct and oversee development and revision of collateral materials (e.g., practice group descriptions, attorney biographies, and promotional pieces).
  • Oversee and update marketing mailing databases (ContactEase and Constant Contact).
  • Build and manage relationships, and negotiate contracts, with outside vendors and external contractors.
  • Draft and publish in-house marketing communications and participate in firm-wide marketing meetings with attorneys.
  • Design and oversee production of advertisements and signage.
  • Field and route prospective client communications to appropriate attorneys.
  • Assist Director of Marketing in tracking return-on-investment of firm marketing efforts.
  • Schedule photo sessions for attorneys and staff.
  • Assist Director of Marketing with other tasks as assigned.

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (writing sample and cover letter required).
  • Ability to communicate and interact with internal staff, attorneys, management and external clients of the firm.
  • Ability to plan and manage work under time constraints.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively organize responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently (i.e., with minimal oversight).
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Willingness to travel if needed.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in the legal industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Constant Contact, Canva, CE Manager, ContactEase (or a similar CRM program), Expression Engine (or a similar CMS tool), Google Analytics, iManage, Webex, Zoom. Social Media Applications: Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and Threads.
