Overview:
The VP, Planning Manager oversees a staff of Planners who work closely with the Buyers in forecasting sales by item, placing orders and ensuring that we have the right merchandise, in the right quantities, at the right time.
Key Accountabilities:
Supervise the development of annual departmental, class and vendor sales, markdown, margin and stock plans.
Manage in season ROF (Rolling Operating Forecast) and control the Open-to-Buy.
Partner with the merchant team on developing actionable strategies to drive sales and achieve plans.
Collaborate with the merchant team to ensure appropriate assortment planning.
Communicate with merchants regarding overstocks and liquidation plans.
Partner with Replenishment team to ensure basic stock level adequate to achieve plans.
Direct day-to-day activities of Planning team members.
Coach and help trains staff with respect to systems, tools and forecasting.
Skills Summary:
BA/BS Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Prior retail planning experience at supervisory level, direct-to-consumer experience is a plus.
Experience in merchandise assortment planning.
Exceptional analytical and communication abilities.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Excellent PC and systems knowledge.
