THE ROLE

The Vice President of Marketing will have responsibility for guiding and developing the K2’s marketing function.  Your talents and experience in the areas of brand marketing, developing the go-to-market strategy, executing online and offline lead generation programs, supporting the sales organization, working closely with partners and other third party distribution channels, website development, advertising, direct response marketing and agency management will be fully utilized in contributing to the company’s continued rapid growth

Your strategic and creative insights will be valued, and your ability to be hands-on and get things done will bring you success.  Your expertise in B2B marketing will be used to acquire enterprise customers for our Business Process Platform.  Experience and a passion for the software industry and/or BPM industry will be important so you hit the ground running.  The Vice President of Marketing is a key member of the Company’s senior management team – you will partner with other functional leaders to develop and execute marketing and business strategies

A successful candidate will be strong manager who is highly self-motivated, accomplishment driven, have excellent planning, time management, communications, decision making, presentation and organization skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop K2’s market positioning and value proposition.  Responsible for the Company’s brand and message creation. 
  • Oversee all customer facing communications and materials.  Assure that the brand identity is consistently applied across all media.
  • Work closely with the sales organization to achieve business objectives through effective marketing programs.
  • Establish and manage strategic relationships that will drive customer acquisition growth.
  • Identify, develop and provide ongoing support for new distribution channels.
  • Manage external marketing agency relationships to assure the effective execution of marketing programs and projects.
  • Design, implement, and manage online and offline marketing programs, with a strong focus on customer acquisition and retention.
  • Oversee website development and strive for continuous improvement of website conversion capabilities through SEO, look/feel and navigation best practices.
  • Guide the identification, planning and execution of events, trade shows and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Relentlessly measure, evaluate and optimize campaigns.
  • Manage tracking and reporting of marketing programs and provide management reports and insights as neede.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Expertise in the area of software or technology marketing including market identification, positioning, value proposition development, product line profitability and customer acquisition & retention.
  • A minimum of eight years of progressive career experience within marketing, with significant marketing leadership experience required.
  • BS/BA Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.  MBA desired.
  • Strong B2B marketing background with an emphasis in enterprise software sales
  • Experience evaluating creative messages, analyzing results and optimizing campaigns.
  • Experience in successfully managing agency partners.
  • Demonstrated success translating corporate business goals into strategic marketing and business development initiatives significantly impacting the business
  • Strong planning, analytical and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of innovative thinking.
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally within a small organization and work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic work environment.
  • Previous success in building a highly effective work team.
  • Prior start-up company experience a plus

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or business is expected.  MBA or Masters Degree a plus.
