We are seeking a Vice President for Business Development to direct and inspire the sale of custom publications to the hospital market. This position manages and motivates the sales staff to achieve goals relative to new revenue and specific product lines. Develops and implements a sales strategy and business plan for the department. Trains, coaches and motivates sales representatives on selling strategies. Monitors the performance of the staff in achieving the defined goals. Maintains and constantly improves company's sales position in the marketplace. Compiles and analyzes sales information on a weekly basis and reports to Chief Executive Officer. Responsible for developing sales compensation strategies and making recommendations to senior management. Attends all key conventions and trade shows and professionally represents the company to prospects. Takes responsibility for the recruitment and selection of new sales personnel. Travels occasionally with all sales representatives.
Education, experience and skills required:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications or related field, or equivalent education or experience, is required.
Seven to 10 years of professional sales experience (business-to-business preferred), including a minimum of three years' experience supervising and managing a sales staff.
An unmatched degree of integrity, with highly developed skills in fostering synergy, enthusiasm, optimism and energy in the workplace. Firm and decisive about meeting policies, procedures, deadlines and goals a necessity.
