Title Technical Services Supervisor- Sumter, SC
Job Description Eaton Corporation located in Sumter, SC has an opening for a Technical Services Supervisor, supporting the Panelboards & Switchboards product line. The Technical Services Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading and coordinating the processes of the Technical Services group to generate manufacturing information for the Sumter manufacturing facility to ensure customer requirements are consistently met.
Essential daily functions of the Technical Services Supervisor include, but are not limited to:
Supervise the support functions involving Manufacturing Information (MI) generation related to switchboard order sely monitor and direct daily front end processes, specifically addressing issues related to managing spikes in release rates and effectively supporting a wide range of lead times and actively participate on cross functional teams in support of implementing lean manufacturing strategies, including front end business process improvement.
Motivate employees and encourage teamwork in an environment dedicated to world class service excelling in responsiveness, information accuracy and LEAN tools to drive continuous process improvements to reduce cycle time, increase front end efficiencies and improve information ntify process improvement opportunities and assign/coordinate efforts of direct reports to specific projects which result in measurable improvement in productivity, reduced cycle time, and/or significant cost savings. Insure that the process improvement initiatives address the feedback received through the non-conformance and Yield rework notices.
Identify opportunities to minimize queue time and hand-offs in the front end through increased "one-touch" order processing (i.e. reconciling/engineering/MI generation) similar to FDS order port efforts to increase information accessibility and accuracy by driving to exclusive use of electronic databases for technical references, standard operating procedures and key lement training for engineers and technicians where necessary to maximize flexibility in order ere to all safety rules and procedures, including 5S requirements, and assume responsibility for reporting unsafe conditions to the appropriate management or MESH representative as actively participates in the training and development of direct reports and help develop an electrical safety training program for the Sumter plant.
Job Qualifications/Educational Requirements .BS degree in engineering or related technical discipline (required at the time of application), and 5-7 years prior experience with Panelboard and Switchboard products.
.Extensive technical and application knowledge of distribution switchboards.
.5-7 years experience working in manufacturing operations, engineering, design or marketing service functions.
.Demonstrated understanding of Eaton Lean System tools and their application in front end business process improvement.
.Expertise in the following systems/tools: Bid Manager, Plant Order Manager, OMS, Design Automation and other AS400 programs specific to switchboard order processing.
.Strong communication, organizational and computer skills.
. The ability to generate customer and technical presentations, as well as product technical expertise is required.
. Must be able to work independently and innovatively to meet the overall goals of the Product Line
