Supervision Given: None Summary: Develops and maintains strategic political involvement and grassroots programs to encourage participation of Alliant Energy employees, retirees and shareowners in the political process. Develops the communication materials used to educate employees, lawmakers, and business groups about legislative issues across state and federal jurisdictions. Uses a variety of communication tools, as well as written and oral communication skills to build and to foster strong working relationships across the organization. Accountabilities Develops strategic employee and retiree education programs to engage employees in the political process and to encourage participation in the Employee Public Affairs Network (EPAN). Arranges for internal meetings to discuss Public Affairs activities, writes regular political and policy updates, and promotes membership in company-s political action program. Develops communication materials to educate employees about the impact of federal, state and local legislation on Alliant Energy and the industry at large. Effectively communicates through various vehicles, including digital newsletters, intranet sites, employee/staff meetings, and other. Works with Alliant Energy state and federal lobbyists to coordinate the development of communications and legislative materials across jurisdictions such that Alliant Energy-s position and strategy on key issues are clear and consistent. Helps Public Affairs team promote and maintain strategic relationships with elected and appointed federal, state and local officials; supports Community Affairs department by strengthening grassroots involvement at the local level. Arranges, promotes and coordinates special events with employees, retirees and shareowners to educate them about current legislative initiatives and further engage them in the political process. Educates all employees on key state and federal elections, encourages civic engagement, and provides regular updates to members of political involvement program, including management team.
