Strategic Marketing Director-Consumer Softgel
The Director of Strategic Development helps to develop and implement strategy and guidance to ensure the business unit achieves its growth objectives through implementation of growth processes, new business development, expansion into new geographic territories, addition of complementary service offerings and inorganic growth initiatives. To drive near and long term growth for the BU, this position must partner with the corporate strategy team to drive focus on identified mergers and acquisitions. They must know the current business market landscape to be effective in creative partnering through joint ventures and alliances.
Assists the business unit President and VPGM of Consumer Softgel in the identification of strategic partners within the areas of focus arising from the structured strategic planning process
Prepares an internal business case to pursue an identified growth transaction by interacting with internal and external specialists/experts/resources to assess legal, regulatory, and other implications
Key leader in the due diligence process providing financial support in modeling and organizing the overall business assessment.
Working with the VPGM, co-leads negotiations as needed
Assists/co-leads integration planning along with other business and functional personnel
Build broad and deep Catalent relationships to help drive understanding of the needs of the business and create the ability to call on internal expertise as necessary
Build a network of external relationships that help in executing the growth strategy such as business leaders, market analysts, etc.
May be asked to partner with corporate strategy group to lead business opportunities that have not been identified in the structured strategic planning process.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience: (Minimum required to perform the job)
· MBA preferred.
· 7 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a solid understanding of the development process involved with bringing new chemical or biological entities to market.
· >7 years of progressively increasing experience relevant to the current BU offerings, and proven success in Business Development, developing partnerships, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Extensive knowledge of external business environment along with understanding of competitive history and the ability to forecast potential next moves
· Experience in working in markets outside of the United States and comfortable in different cultures
· Strong influencing skills and ability to succeed in a matrixed organization
· Must possess and demonstrate verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
· Executive presentation and speaking skills are critical
· Ability to read, understand, and appropriately use financial and legal data in building business cases is critical
· Proven ability to successfully lead virtual teams composed of many disciplines and levels
· The use of standard office-based software, including email, is required, with Microsoft Office preferred
