Stadium Operations & Concessions Intern -Charlotte (Sports Marketing/Events/Promotions)

As a successful Stadium Operation Intern, your main responsibility is to learn the ropes and provide support in operations-related areas of the business.

Responsibilities:

As our Stadium Operations Intern, you will report to the Director of Food & Beverage and assist in the following tasks during the Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training and Florida State League seasons:

-Direct the cleaning of Charlotte Sports Park including ordering supplies, checking the work of the cleaning crew, etc.
-Oversee the Fun Zone including set-up of inflatable's, equipment coordination, and monitoring the area during the game
-Schedule and track seasonal employees, including hours worked, and assist in training of seasonal staff
-Oversee the Charlotte Stone Crabs merchandise including monitoring the online store, doing weekly inventory checks of merchandise, adding new merchandise in the team store, etc.
-Ensure the Parking Staff are on-site for duration of the event
-Maintain the policies of the stadium in regards to customer service and other ballpark issues
-Support the Director of Operations and Director of Food & Beverage with game day tasks
-Overseeing F&B operations including management and cleanliness of concession areas, coordination of private parties and inventory control

Additionally, you will gain valuable experience in the baseball industry, with full training provided and the opportunity to work closely with the entire Stone Crabs front office staff.
This position will provide you with a clear picture of the overall operations during a major league spring training and minor league baseball season. While this is an unpaid internship, we will gladly work with you and your school to provide college credit for your internship experience!

Qualifications:

We require:

-CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENT OR MAY 2012 GRAD
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
-Terrific energy and a positive, "can-do" attitude
-Strong organizational skills
-Self- motivation and ability to take initiative

We prefer:

-The ability to work at least 20-30 hours a week, beginning in March and potentially stay throughout the FSL season!

Special Physical Requirements of the Job:

-Ability to work long hours and weekends
-Routinely exposed to extreme hot/cold weather conditions
