Sr. Program Manager
The SC-CTSI, Office of Research Development (ORD) Senior Program Manager will manage multiple and diverse efforts within ORD including: Pilot Funding- SC-CTSI's - $1/year pilot funding program; Team Building - Multidisciplinary research team development efforts; Planning, Evaluation and Tracking. Process and timeframe of annual program planning, outcomes tracking and evaluation reporting for the ORD program and all ORD awardees/participants.
With guidance and direction from the Associate Director the incumbent's overall responsibility is to provide management to on-going, assigned efforts within ORD and effectively transition new organizational efforts from the start-up phase to a stable, mature and sustainable phase. The incumbent will hold responsibility for providing programmatic management as well as support and guidance to the ORD as specified by the leadership team and will direct appropriate program staff as assigned. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to recognize, develop and implement solutions to programmatic challenges that require general systems and processes to ensure effective program implementation across ORD.
Key responsibilities are:
-Recognize, develop and implement solutions that require general systems and processes that will ensure effective program/project implementation across ORD. -Proactively identify high-level barriers to program success and propose innovative solutions -Create processes to implement solutions; and identify and engage the right stakeholders -Recognize and capitalize on opportunities for development and effective implementation of ORD efforts -Establish collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at SC-CTSI, USC as well as externally, and ensure ample and effective communication among the stakeholders -Provide timely and useful feedback to the ORD leadership team from internal constituencies and customers -Provide programmatic leadership and support to ORD as specified by the leadership team -Understand and constantly verify the needs, expectations, and performance objectives of ORD leadership and key contacts throughout SC-CTSI and USC -Leads the development of program project plans for all of the projects instituted by ORD and is an integral part of the planning and implementation process -Provides the financial and program management for ORD. This includes supervising staff as assigned and provides a critical interface between senior faculty members, the funding agencies' administrative staff, the pilot funding web portal developers and other key stakeholders -Educates program teams in program planning/management to build understanding and buy-in -Through program plans, delineates resources needed to pursue the programs stated goals and determines and informs program leadership whether changes in scope, time, or resources are necessary -Conducts program reviews to ensure quality and timeliness of services and project milestones -Explores solutions to delays in meeting established goals or timelines with ORD leadership. Works with ORD leadership to identify and implement solutions. -Presents issues/challenges identified in program team meetings to ORD leadership with creative suggestions for accomplishing goals. -Develops presentations, reports, templates and e-mails for purposes of providing updates and communications to team members, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
