Honeywell is seeking a Sr Product Category Manager to add to their growing Security Products team in Melville, NY! With your degree and 4 years of professional experience in AV, Access Control, retail, distribution, or similar high-transaction environment, we want to talk to you today!
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing on product mix and pricing strategies based not only on historical data, but also on industry trends and customer buying patterns
- Creating strategic plans for each category of product, including growth and promotional programs
- Managing supplier relationships, including contracts, product assortment, marketing programs, and communications
- Growing the product category profitably in line with targets, while adhering to working capital requirements for the Residential and Commercial A/V and Telephone Systems category of products
- Support field sales staff by clearly communicating enticing promotional programs, new products or suppliers as well as resolution of transactional issues as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree required
Minimum 4 years professional work experience in Retail, Distribution or similar high-transaction environment
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's Degree preferred
• Ability to provide strategic leadership, direction and development for the US & PR Residential and Commercial A/V and Telephone Systems category
• Experience managing vendor portfolio, category management, and pricing policy; including managing vendor relationships and contractual agreements.
• Ability to support field sales with special pricing, inventory positions, vendor relations and product issues
• Ability to manage strategy and execution of key industry trade shows including CEDIA and InfoComm
• Experience generating tactical and strategic category roadmaps and detailed plans, including annual & 5-year plans.
• Ability to drive improvements in inventory management processes, including SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning), forecasting, IOS (Inactive, Obsolete, Surplus).
• Experience developing and driving integrated growth programs across all sub-categories, using data mining and other tools to target appropriate customer segments
• Ability to create reports and analyze reports
• Ability to build large number of relationships with diverse groups
• High level of critical thinking skills
• Ability to travel 25%
