Sr. Marketing & Business Development Manager
**Must have professional services marketing/ business development experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development: Initiate, develop and provide hands-on support for local marketing and business development plans, programs and budgets.
Seminars & Events: Manage local conferences, sponsorships, seminars, speaking engagements and events.
External Communications: Manage public relations, article placement, attorney publications, directory submissions and deal note generation in collaboration with Global PR team.
Market Awareness and Visibility: Identify publications, organizations and events where attorneys can be featured
Client development and retention: cultivate new and enhance existing client relationships.
Client Targeting & Cross Selling: Assist with the coordination and management of cross-selling programs.
New Business Proposals: Support attorneys in preparation of client presentation materials, RFPs and new business proposals
Competitive and Market Intelligence: Conduct and manage research of prospective targets, industries, markets, competition and conflicts via firm-wide resources, online databases, and librarian searches. Prepare background information on prospects.
Partnering Relationships: Identify professional organizations, industry associations, educational institutions and clients to identify leadership positions, speaking opportunities and sources of referral.
Supervisory: Mentor and supervise Business Development Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
At least five to seven years relevant experience in a legal or professional services marketing position and three to six years prior supervisory experience is desired.
Candidate must have strong strategic business development focus with knowledge of core marketing principles including internal communications, public relations, seminar/event planning, branding, market research, competitive intelligence, credentials and RFP response preparation.
Candidate must have excellent leadership skills; communications skills (oral and written); strong organizational skills; advanced skills with PC applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel..
