Sr Manager, Product Management Kindle Direct Publishing
Do you have a passion for creating great products Do you have a strong interest in defining the future of ebooks and independent publishing Kindle Direct Publishing, the independent ebook publishing platform for Amazon, is seeking a product management leader to help shape and deliver on a historic opportunity in digital media. This role will be responsible for delivering on KDP's strategy to enable independent authors and publishers around the world to create, publish and market their books globally. Check us out here,
Key Responsibilities:
Define a cohesive product strategy and roadmap, while managing day to day product management activities.
Express functional concepts and designs through storyboards, illustrations, wireframes, and requirements definition.
Collaborate closely with developers, UX designers, marketing and customer support to evaluate and iterate on ideas and requirements.
Establish product management infrastructure, processes and best practices.
Manage and mentor a small team of product managers to achieve product and corporate goals.
Monitor emerging market trends and translate these into product concepts, requirements and plans.
Increase insights on user behavior and pain points. Identify, measure, and improve key customer experience metrics. Promote data-based decision making.
Engage closely with the engineering team to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as inform trade-offs, solutions and schedules.
Understand and evangelize the needs of the KDP author and publisher customer base and user community.
BA/BS Required
5+ years product management experience in consumer Internet.
7+ years overall experience cross-functional (business, engineering) work in technology sector
Expertise in defining product management processes with strong understanding of software development cycles and development methodologies.
Demonstrated people and organizational management skills.
Strong written and spoken communication skills.
MBA, MS, MA preferred
Proven track record for delivery of product on a repeatable basis and operating cadence.
Ability to manage large numbers of initiatives and competing priorities.
Ability to deliver both tactical and long-term priorities.
Good understanding of the Internet, social media, and digital media.
