Sr. IT Systems Administrator
Seeking an experienced System Administrator familiar with Windows and UNIX operating systems running in a classified environment. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, development of project artifacts (e.g., project plan, schedule, system requirements documents, test plans, etc.), attending Quality Assurance reviews, managing customer requirements and expectations, trouble-shooting and triaging of production problems (will often require analysis of legacy computer systems), preparing and delivering formal project briefings to senior IT and end user management, assisting staff in the monitoring of daily system interfaces, performing ad hoc queries in response to customer-initiated data calls, development and maintenance of detailed MS Project schedules, and participation in long range planning in the context of business area and sector initiatives. Maintain smooth operation of a multi-user computer system, including local area networks. Duties may include setting up user accounts, maintaining documentation and installing system-wide software and allocation of mass storage space. Interacts with users and analyzes vendor products, makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, and coordinates installation. Trains internal users and develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation and use of equipment and resources.
The qualified candidate will report directly to the Infrastructure Services Classified Tower functional manager and designated IT Solutions Systems Admin lead, with matrixed accountability to local ES sector customer leads for the Space-Based Infrared System (SIBRS) program. All work will be performed on site within the NGC Azusa, CA campus.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: DOD Secret clearance (potential for obtaining additional special access clearances at a later date)
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience (advanced degree may be substituted in lieu of years experience)
Minimum 6 years systems administration experience (UNIX and/or Windows)
Windows server and Active Directory-design, build, system maintenance and security administration
Sun Solaris and/or Red Hat Linux-build, system maintenance and security administration
Knowledge in classified network operations procedures
Good written and oral communication skills
Minimum H.S Diploma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of SAN files systems and fiber attached servers
VMware installation and support
