Position Overview
When you’re leading the battle to help protect hundreds of millions of consumers around the world from the growing number of online and offline risk, only the best will do. That’s what we’re looking for in the Norton consumer business at Symantec. As the senior director of product marketing you will lead the team responsible for driving product marketing for Symantec’s $2B consumer product portfolio.
 
Requirements
• Possesses strong product marketing management experience including consumer marketing leadership experience in order to direct and manage the global Consumer product marketing function
• Capable of leading a global team that defines and drives innovative marketing strategies and launches, in conjunction with regional teams, online channels, PR, brand, etc.
• Ability to scale the category marketing organization to top talent performance levels and develop best-in-class marketing capabilities to attain CBU objectives
• A relationship-builder who can establish and drive strategic relationships at senior management levels and across the organization including product management, product development, brand marketing, regional marketing, PR, Ecommerce and sales
• Partner with product management team, regional teams and operations to help identify and deliver new business opportunities while managing the existing business
• A strategic and innovative marketer who can lead and help drive the transition of the Norton brand from a PC, Antivirus software subscription brand to an innovative brand that delivers leading protection that goes beyond the PC.  Drive ideas that help move the needle on brand opinion, increase the visibility and brand name of Norton and Symantec.
• A highly driven, results-oriented, and dedicated marketer who can spearhead a global team at a strategic level but who has not lost the edge to roll up his/her sleeves and ability to execute. 
• Writes and presents effectively; adjusts to fit the audience and the message; strongly gets a message across.
• Skilled at inspiring others and at getting individuals, teams, and an entire organization to perform at a higher level and to embrace change; negotiates skilfully to achieve a fair outcome or promote a common cause; communicates a compelling vision and is committed to what needs to be done; inspires others; builds motivated, high performing teams; understands what motivates different people.

Qualifications
• Minimum 10+ years of consumer market experience with a preference for a mixture of technology and packaged goods experience
• At least 3+ years of management experience as a group manager/director managing a team of directors and/or senior managers
• Absolutely must possess strong cross-functional teaming abilities and proven track record of success in a matrixed environment; at least 7+ years experience managing/leading cross-functional teams
• Must have direct experience leading a product line/product portfolio with annual sales of $500M or greater
• New product launch experience required; new category launch experience preferred
• Proven experience in developing successful category strategies that include multiple products
• Proven ability to develop global strategies and help localize regionally as required
• Understanding of both the retail and online channels
• Strategic thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Proven ability to evaluate competitive situations and develop effective competitive strategies to win categories and markets
• Undergraduate degree required, MBA preferred
• Outstanding written, verbal and presentation communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, partners, customers and media
