Sr. Coordinator - Music & Media Licensing
Negotiate licenses and permissions with copyright owners of music, film, TV, video games, online content, books, magazines, record label content, artist management, etc. Facilitate clearance requests by working closely with content producers in researching copyright ownership and by researching rights to pre-existing material as necessary Assist third party productions in obtaining licenses and permissions with copyright owners of film, music, books, magazines, record label content, artist management, etc. Ensure third party productions are delivering content consistent with Network's guidelines Secure rights for third party production theme songs where applicable Build and foster good working relationships with Integrated Marketing, Scratch, Business Enterprises and Third Party Production Companies and also within the licensing community Maintain contract files for all assigned programs/projects, including but not limited to blanket and limited term deals associated with the Creative Music Integration team Support Vice President and Director in day-to-day operations in updating departmental reports and tracking rights/restriction information (such as MML Programming Rights Report, RMS and PTS) Secure and approve music cue sheets, and show logs (if required) from in-house producers and third party productions Collect deliverables, including guest/location agreements, license agreements and talent agreements when applicable Report discrepancies or missing information to Producers and follow up to insure proper completion. Communicate information regarding blanket deals to clients as necessary, under supervision of Vice President and Director Regularly report clearance costs to Production and Production Management via tracking grids and over the phone/via email Work closely with these areas and proactively suggest cost-saving options and alternatives Provide information to VMN International and Content Management teams regarding production terms and availability of content for air on VH1 International.
