AmazonLocal is a recently launched daily deals marketplace offering customers savings of up to 75 percent off products and services at restaurants, spas, events and more. This new business within Amazon offers a creative, fast paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you'll be at the center of Amazon innovation. Amazon Local is looking for a Social Media Manager to help us engage with our customers and deliver offers in clever new ways.
The successful candidate will able to encourage subscribers to engage with AmazonLocal, to share feedback and encourage participation. He or she will have experience with successful, large-scale social media campaigns, and passion for both the creative and analytical aspects of social media. The ideal candidate will have a strong point of view on social media in business and retail, and the ability to communicate well with customers, and across product, operations, and development. They will work well with internal and external resources, and understand the impact of their campaigns. The Social Media Manager will plan and build campaigns for social involvement, course correct based on data, and report on social media engagement. The candidate will be detail-oriented and organized, capable of handling multiple projects at once, able to take direction, capable of dealing with ambiguity, and comfortable working with teams, vendors, and management.
Responsibilities:
Develop social media strategy to encourage subscriber involvement with AmazonLocal
Plan, coordinate and execute social media initiatives for AmazonLocal
Analyze performance of programs, always seeking ways to improve
Work with suppliers and merchants to create on-brand, best-in-class content
Generate excitement and buzz among AmazonLocal subscribers
Analyze social interaction and, report on results and trendcasting, and improve long term subscriber engagement
Drive product improvements to completion by coordinating with project managers, web developers, business intelligence and designers.
3+ years experience in online and offline consumer promotions
Bachelor's degree
MBA
5+ years experience successful, large-scale social media campaigns
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Experience creating social campaigns that are on-brand, relevant, and tailored to the target audience
Ability to conceptualize and execute projects, with strong bias for action and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Aptitude for organization
Experience managing and analyzing large amounts of data
Understanding and use of social and trend metrics and how to gauge
