Overview:
The San Francisco based Project Management team is currently looking for an Agile Project Manager to assist in managing web site development projects for and . As Project Manager, your primary mission will be to manage the planning, execution and delivery of the Agile development lifecycle using and promoting an iterative framework. Ample prior experience in a fast-paced agile environment will be critical to planning, budgeting and overseeing our software development activities. In addition, experience managing work against competing deliverables, actively identifying blocking issues and bringing them to quick resolution to increase the team's overall velocity is essential. Past practical application of Agile methods will enable you to evangelize and spearhead its continued usage at our company. This is a highly visible position with significant interaction with product management, engineering, QA and project/program management. Superb communication and presentation skills will be integral to conducting planning meetings, hosting demonstrations, and facilitating issue resolution with team members and stakeholders alike. A born multi-tasker, you will have no problem managing the work for multiple projects, serving several growing business units within the organization. Key Accountabilities:
Oversee all project-related activities on a daily basis and has responsibility for execution and final delivery of the product.
Regularly report project status and issues to technology team management.
Create project management plan and manages the plan to schedule.
Use existing standards and processes throughout the life cycle of the project.
Drive the change management processes.
Own, communicate, and manage the project risk.
Facilitate planning, communication and negotiation within the team.
Escalate project issues as necessary to the appropriate level of management.
May act as Iteration Manager, manage iteration lifecycle, administer backlog and story cards in Mingle, steer the plan, clear blockers, facilitate all iteration meetings, and ensure timely delivery of projects and solutions.
Conduct post-implementation reviews and communicate lessons learned to appropriate groups.
Ensure that project audit controls and closeout activities are completed.
Facilitate project scorecard development.
Participate in periodic project management process audits.
Coach other project managers in process, issue resolution and audit controls.
Skills Summary:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
6 years managing enterprise-level software development projects from initiation through completion, ideally ecommerce initiatives.
3 to 5 years of experience managing software development efforts using Agile (Scrum, XP, lean, etc.).
Thorough knowledge of the software development lifecycle, QA and test methodologies and processes, and experience with one (or more) products through all phases of the software development life cycle.
Ability to accurately distinguish which issues, dependencies, and risks are critical, demonstrate flexibility when prioritizing those issues, and identify, develop, negotiate, and optimize solutions with the Team, internal and external consultant
Excellent communication, multitasking, and time management skills.
Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.
Strong written & verbal presentation & communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business.
Ability to effectively share technical information.
Technical experience in retail/ecommerce is a strong plus.
PMI or CSM certification helpful but not required.
