Description:
The Senior Manager of Marketing Communications Manager, North America, is responsible to develop the strategy for, and manage execution of fully integrated marketing plans and programs designed to achieve market share, awareness, revenue, and profitability objectives for the Data Protection business unit of Syncsort, Inc. Working closely with product marketing, customer marketing, channel marketing, product development, education services, sales, events and social media, this position is the hub of all marketing activities and is responsible to integrate and coordinate information across the departments, and acts as an internal marketing consultant in each area, as necessary. This position must also stay informed at a corporate level, stay engaged and in touch with other business units to make sure high-level company positioning, resource and information sharing and other efficiencies are achieved.
Main Responsibilities Include:
Brand Stewardship/Management – ensure message and graphic consistency
Awareness/Demand Generation program planning and execution – drive qualified pipeline
Budget Management – accurately forecast spending, adhere to established budgets
Program Analysis & Reporting – evaluate programs, results, make recommendations for adjustments
Process Review & Analysis – review current processes, recommend changes or new processes to achieve greater efficiencies
Product Launch Communication Strategy – work closely with Product Management to develop effective and timely launch promotions and communications
Collateral/Sales Tool Development – Identify and work with product marketing/sales to develop effective marketing and sales tools that address multiple audiences.
Web content management – update and manage the Syncsort website, and content library
Job Activities Include:
Marketing Communications
Develop, manage and execute compelling demand generation campaigns that provide quality responses
Manage the creation of marketing materials/sales tools including: company website, brochures, sell sheets, direct mail, email, online advertising, case studies, presentations, whitepapers, and other like materials.
Develop and distribute communications to keep internal Syncsort associates informed of marketing programs, tools, and results.
Ensure consistent and relevant messaging and positioning across all external and internal communications, adherence to branding requirements, and effectively position and promote Syncsort data protection solutions
Maintain library of marketing collateral, keep all materials current, and ensure accurate materials are shared with, and used by, sales, partners, resellers and Syncsort employees
Corporate Communications (Internal)
Maintain and manage a variety of internal communications for SYNCSORT to connect and engage employees, including intranet
Recommend and implement Communications that increase company-wide awareness of Marketing initiatives and SYNCSORT’S success, with a goal of enhancing employee engagement
Project Management
Develop and execute the Syncsort Data Protection business unit annual marketing plan
Run effective, well planned meetings with documented follow-up
Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders: product marketing, sales and strategic alliances teams to ensure marketing collateral/activities meet identified needs
Manage departments and vendors/agencies to develop and produce specific deliverables across a variety of traditional and new media.
Provide reports and ROI analysis of marketing/demand generation activities/leads generated. Make recommendations on program improvements.
Coordinate and communicate all activities with global counterparts to extend efficiencies and effectiveness of programs generated in North America.
Required Experience:
Extraordinary writing and editing skills. Business writing and B2B marketing samples required: lead generation, internal communication, web, sales tools, and presentations.
Minimum 6-10 years experience in marketing: Marcom, Product or PR, preferably with enterprise software technology
Experience with indirect sales distribution channels and VAR sales support/management desired
Experience with global markets is a plus
Demonstrated agency, vendor, project and budget management
Bachelor’s degree, with a major in English, communications, marketing or related field, or related professional experience
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with a CRM is useful.
