Overview:
The Senior Manager of Architecture will work within the site development team. This role requires a strong background in java development and application architecture, proven experience in implementing continuous delivery and excellent written and verbal communications skills. The successful candidate will help design and document enhancements to our Ecommerce platform and related applications.
Key Accountabilities:
Responsible for managing and extending the Site Reference Architecture.
Establish and drive the standards and governance models across site development.
Contribute to and furthers the development team's technical leadership.
Management of a pool of Architects (application, infrastructure, performance)
Partner with Infrastructure team to ensure consistent and efficient collaboration on changes impacting Macy's infrastructure.
Establish process for automating governance of architectural and development standards.
Manage the roadmap for Continuous Delivery with Site Development.
Establish and manage architectural review process to ensure all projects comply with the reference architecture.
Discern inherent design patterns in the application and then be able to extend them to align with business processes.
Define the annual architectural roadmap to continue to improve high availability and extensibility.
Communicate design recommendations to a varied audience.
Ensure strong design principles are applied within our development cycles.
Build strong working relationships across the organization.
Skills Summary:
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 10 years of experience in technology including 5 years of professional experience in an architecture role, 4 years in a management role and 4 years in J2EE development.
Team player who enjoys collaborating with analysts, design and development teams and project managers.
Proven ability to meet deadlines, comfortable with fast-paced development cycles.
Experience managing managers and motivating teams.
Experience defining and managing to an architectural roadmap.
