The Senior Manager of Insights and Activation serves as an integral member of the Georgia-Pacific Safeway team, developing consumer and customer centric strategies and tactics to achieve increased market share, sales, and profitability of all Georgia-Pacific brands through business and analytical insight. This Manager functions as a solution manager analyzing and proactively responding to industry, consumer, and competitive trends to capitalize on growth opportunities and ensure forecasting is accurately communicated and updated to achieve GP's financial goals. This position is responsible for ensuring strategic integration and funding of account specific consumer promotions and collaborates with customer team members to share best practices to influence positive changes and improve customer ROI.
Responsibilities:
o Identify, quantify, and develop growth opportunities at Safeway utilizing syndicated data and Safeways shopper card data. Communicate findings to sales and management teams.
o Interpret and apply Georgia Pacific shopper/consumer strategies to Safeway category strategies.
o Establish thought leadership at Safeway by using Shopper insights to provide strategic insight that shape how Safeway defines their opportunities and tactical plans to address.
o Work cross-functionally with marketing, trade marketing and sales teams to ensure plan delivery against category objectives.
o Establish a roadmap for using shopper insights as a corporate asset across the organization.
o Lead, manage and mentor the activities of the Safeway category management specialists.
o Train sales team on presentation skills, technical proficiency, analytical problem solving, and managing and measuring business results through a thorough knowledge of loyalty card data.
o Manage multiple projects to completion with minimum management oversight.
Deliverables:
o Develop, present and implement Shopper/Consumer insights driven initiatives.
o Build and execute collaborative high-level business plans with the Sales Team.
o Establish key relationships with Safeways Marketing Strategies department.
o Consumer activation strategies based on Safeways loyalty card data, ensuring proper pre and post analytics are conducted and communicated throughout the organization.
o Quarterly updates to the organization on the return on shopper insights and activation investments with quarterly business reviews with management team (Atlanta, GA)
Education:
o Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred
Qualifications:
o At least 2 years experience in a Category Management role.
o At least 2 years direct supervision of a team experience.
Knowledge-Skills-Abilities
o Knowledge and experience in category management and consumer activation best practices.
o Highly skilled, hands-on command of syndicated (IRI or Nielsen), shopper card, panel and consumer demographic data.
o Presentation and communications skills.
o Safeway experience with existing Marketing Strategies and/or Consumer Demand relationships.
o Previous Sales experience preferred
o Exceptional Microsoft Office software skills.
