Oversees the day-to-day management and strategic direction of existing enterprise relationships, e.g. Walgreens, as well as new relationships that are developed, as appropriate. Optimizes relationships in order to fully leverage brands, distribution channels, and other assets of each organization which are critical to advancing AARP’s social impact agenda and delivering member value.
Provides leadership and direction in the development of enterprise relationships with new and existing companies.
Demonstrates appropriate leadership skills to develop and lead a project team both internally and externally and integrates others throughout the organization that can deliver on the vision.
Successfully leads change and increases performance levels.
Develops strategy for AARP enterprise relationships that will optimize the opportunities between AARP and its enterprise participants.
Implements an annual strategic account plan with each enterprise participant that leverages resources to enable AARP to significantly expand the awareness and impact of the social impact agenda.
Manages relationships that are at the highest level of the organization. Ensures senior management both at AARP and at external organizations are continually updated and satisfied with the progress of the relationship.
Demonstrates WORLD CLASS cultural attributes and behaviors in all interactions.
Requirements
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and 12+ years experience in management, development, and marketing in a for-profit business or large non-profit organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position. Must be a self starter with entrepreneurial skills.
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing successful new business partnerships in a wide variety of categories. Experience in a membership-based organization beneficial.
Proven success in leading new initiatives with outside organizations. Strong ability to identify a strategy, articulate concepts, negotiate, and execute a plan.
Proven track record in establishing and meeting revenue/profitability goals for other organizations.
Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers and external parties, fostering strong working relationships.
Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation and interpersonal communications skills. High energy-level, team player dedicated to excellent customer service for internal and external customers.
Strong managerial, leadership, and strategic thinking skills. Skilled in working across partnerships in leading change, establishing performance measures, and creating win-win relationships.
Skilled in developing and leading a matrixed project team toward common goals and strategic objectives.
