Role Description: This Senior Business Development Officer (Sr. BDO) will report to the Head of Institutional Sales in iShares. The primary target audience will be pension funds, foundations, and endowments. This position will be located in New York. Expectations will be to effectively manage the territory in order to exceed personal and team goals. The Sr. BDO serves as the iShares point of contact for such clients and prospects and will work closely with relationship managers within the US Institutional Channel of the Global Client Group (GCG). Primary Responsibilities: • Call on mid to large sized pension funds, foundations, and endowments to market iShares, iPath exchange traded notes • Deliver sales presentations, seminars and conduct meetings with clients / prospects • Report weekly activities and accomplishments • Demonstrated successful business development/client service in an institutional setting • Manage all conference activity and speaking engagements within the Eastern region • Work with Business Development Associate to maximize territory sales coverage • Partner closely with Relationship Managers in GCG to prospect and service existing clients • Contribute to the success of the overall team Qualifications: • BA/BS degree required; MBA or CFA certification preferred • 8+ years sales experience at a top investment management firm • NASD series 7 and 63 securities licenses required, 3 preferred • The ability to build strong relationships with tax-exempt entities and/or existing relationships • Understanding of swaps, futures and other equity derivative products preferred • Ability to represent BlackRock in a professional manner • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills • Strong sales presentation skills • High energy, motivated individual with a commitment to excellence • Ability to work in a team environment is critical • Clean compliance record required • Clean U-4 EEO
