Job Title:School Community Liaison Specialist
School:Greenlee Elementary School
Hourly Rate:$14.80-24.11 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Objective:
To coordinate and act as a liaison between various school-based programs and students, families, parents, community, and homeless interests, as directed.
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinates and acts as a liaison between various school-based programs and students, families, parents, community, and homeless interests, as directed.
2. Develops user skills, knowledge and abilities to ensure prompt and effective liaison activities.
3. Acts promptly to resolve problems, issues and requests from students, families, parents, and community interests.
4. Takes initiative to investigate and recommend the piloting of new strategies. Conducts research and analyzes various school-based programs, developing project plans and schedules, and produces recommendations, as directed.
5. Solves scheduling and coordination problems through consensus with students, families, parents, community, and homeless interests.
6. Maintains a current knowledge of developments in education that enhance the achievement of objectives and positive relationships with students, families, parents, community, and homeless interests.
7. Maintains both the integrity and confidentiality of all data, as directed.
8. Develops and maintains effective communications with students, families, parents, community, and homeless interests.
9. Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested.
Education/Experience:
High school degree or equivalent, with a Bachelor's Degree in education desired. One (1) or more years of related experience. Demonstrated working knowledge of school-based programs that support students, families, parents, community, and homeless interests in an urban, K-12 school environment. Demonstrated working knowledge of project management methodology and implementation techniques. Demonstrated hands-on experience leading and coordinating the work of project teams and user groups. Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on communications with students, parents, collaborative decision making teams, and the community. Demonstrated experience performing as a team player, and recognizing and resolving conflicts or potentially controversial situations through diplomacy. Demonstrated current knowledge of a Macintosh and Windows computer operating systems and related hardware and peripherals, plus software and emerging technologies.
Licensure/Qualifying Standards:
A current and valid State of Colorado driver's license is required.
Performance:
Demonstrated experience performing in compliance with established human resource and departmental policies regarding: attendance (absences, tardiness, sick leave and vacation use, and other scheduled or unscheduled absences); dress code; safety; security, disaster and other policies procedures and practices.
Physical/Environmental Characteristics:
Essential duties are routinely performed in a variety of locations, including: general office, classroom, media centers, community centers and related work environments. Travel is required. Essential duties regularly require sitting at a work station/desk plus movement while completing paperwork or using computers, printers, scanners, digital and video cameras, televisions, calculators, copiers, fax machines and other business office machines and equipment. Essential duties may involve: occasional kneeling, squatting, crouching, stooping, crawling, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting to stack, store or retrieve supplies or various computer and office equipment, as directed. Compliance to security and safety procedures, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is required.
