Westwood College is is looking for aSenior Human Resources Manager. This position is responsible for the Denver and Southern California regions consisting of 6 campus locations and reports to the Sr. Director, Human Resources for the position can be based in either Denver, CO or in the Southern CA area. The Regional Senior Manager Human Resources provides human resources expertise and both hands-on and strategic guidance to the Campus Leadership in employee relations, coaching/development, performance management, conflict management, training and more. The Sr. Manager HR provides guidance on policies, practices and initiatives, within the assigned region. This position is the Human Resources Business Partner to the Campus President and Campus Leadership team working closely with them on a daily basis. The Sr. Manager HR is responsible for implementing HR programs and initiatives. Responsibilities * Partners closely with assigned Campus’ leadership providing day-to-day support, guidance and coaching.
* Coaches managers regarding effective performance management and progressive discipline processes.
* Assists Campus Leadership in developing skills to manage employees more effectively through modeling, coaching, instruction and training.
* Assists with implementation and enforcement of the College’s human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
* Responds to inquiries regarding the College’s processes, policies, procedures, and programs.
* Conducts investigations into employee claims/complaints of policy violations.
* Responds to employee and management inquiries regarding the organization’s processes, policies, procedures, and programs.
* Partners with Campus Leadership to develop and implement plans to address human resources issues.
* Acts as the initial point of contact for HR-related processes, issues/questions.
* Partners with Central Administration departments (Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Academic Affairs, etc.) to provide services and information to the Campuses and employees.
* Participates in the selection process for Campus management positions and approves all non-faculty salary offers.
* Investigates, resolves issues/conflicts and provides recommendation/resolution to employee relation issues and complaints.
* Ensures consistent discipline practices and legal compliance.
* Provide management guidance on HR laws and regulations.
* Participates in and/or manages projects as assigned.
* Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements * Bachelors degree from an accredited educational institution, Masters degree preferred.
* Professional accreditation/certification PHR or SPHR.
* Technical skills/software knowledge Microsoft Office; HRIS software.
* Minimum of 5 years generalist experience with specific experience as a HR Business Partner.
* Fully competent knowledge of human resources legislation both state and federal.
* Specific functional experience in one or more HR disciplines; benefits, compensation, HRIS, employee relations, etc.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
