Primary Functions
Increase MetLife’s market share by implementing strategic initiatives and managing performance within the Region.
Ensure that the Sales Model and its key components (Performance management, Account Planning, etc.) are integrated into the Region’s daily operations.
Meet on a strategic level with key brokers and consultants in support of Strategic Alliances, Select Brokers and other selling opportunities
Help SEs close direct warm leads in conjunction with assistance provided by Channel Management, Marketing and RVPs.
Assist SE’s, CE’s and Small Market Reps develop Account Plans and sales objectives, as outlined in their Performance Management Plans.
Review SE, CE and Small Market Rep. Account Plans and sales objectives monthly, and report results to the RVP and Corporate.
Work with the RVPs to hire competent, dependable personnel, and be fully responsible for providing sufficient training.
Monitor field account expenses and profitability.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with all areas of MetLife that impact sales and servicing GRO customers.
Ensure existing blocks of business receive quality service.
Assist the Account Specialist (AS) or CE in resolving service issues and communicating problems to customers.
Roll up sales objectives and Account Plans. The help review them with the RVP to make sure they match or exceed Corporate goals.
From the aggregate sales objectives and Account Plans, identify 3 substantial strategic opportunities for the Region and what resources and support will be available (and/or needed) in order to help exceed the RD’s objectives.
Personally develop a Performance Management Plan focusing on "Building the Business" and "Areas for Development/Enhancing Performance" that is reviewed with their RVP.
Meet quarterly with their RVP to review recent performance results as benchmarked to expectations and prior commitments.
Supervision will come from the Regional Vice-President (RVP) in ensuring that GRO and Corporate initiatives (Sales Model, Strategic Alliances, Performance Management, Account Planning, etc.) are being integrated into the RD’s long-term and daily business operations.
This position is empowered to strategically and tactically manage the day-to-day operations of their Regional field force. They must review monthly the Sales Executive’s (SE) and Client Executive’s (CE) and Small Market Rep. Account Plans and sales objectives. Deploying a motivated sales force that can reach Corporate growth objectives is critical. Will also oversee work delegated to the Administrative Assistant (AA).
Job Requirements
5-7 years relevant experience.
Must have Series 6, 63 and 26
Ability to develop and strengthen ongoing relationships with key brokers and consultants.
Provide leadership and a standard for excellence to the sales force.
Able to resolve personnel and customer service problems.
Effective in managing people, building rapport, mentoring and delegating tasks.
Remain current on all Corporate policies, product design, delivery system and legislative changes affecting Regional procedures.
The RD should be competent in some or all of these areas:

The RD should be able to recommend solutions for selling and servicing problems that satisfy MetLife associates as well as customers. The RD must be exceptionally good at dealing with personnel problems.
