The Public Relations Department at The Field Museum is seeking highly qualified candidates to perform the following duties: * Write press releases, media alerts, photo captions, and membership magazine article * Assist in development and distribution of monthly and quarterly press information * Supervise television filming and photography shoots * Handle requests from members of the print and electronic media by phone and email * Assist in archiving media clippings * Develop and update mailing lists * Assist with filing, copying and other clerical tasks
Qualifications
Journalism, Public Relations and Communications fields preferred. This highly visible position requires outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of business protocol, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of prioritizing and completing multiple s opportunity is for current undergraduate students only; candidates with degrees will not be considered. Internship hours: M - F, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ALL TERMS ARE FULL TIME POSITIONS Compensated position * Length of term: 12 weeks
