Promotions/Community Relations Internship (Sports Marketing/Events/Promotions)

The Class A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, are looking to fill a Community Relations/Promotions Intern position for the 2012 season. We are eager to find an energetic individual who will help in supervising our in game promotions as well as our relationship with the community.

The intern primarily will report to the Director of Community Relations/Promotions and will help in overseeing all aspects of our promotions/community involvement. The intern will also gain experience in other areas such as tickets, operations, sales, and merchandising as needed.

Daily Responsibilities:

 Set up and break down of field promotions, supplies and equipment
 Maintain inventory of on field promotions supplies and equipment
 Register on field promotions participants
 Assist Director with execution of on field promotions
 Prepare Future Hoppers for on field presentation
 Assemble and distribute Kid's Club packages to members
 Assist Director with fulfilling donation requests
 Assist Director with baseball camp
 Attend mascot and player appearances
 Assist in special events as needed
 Assist front office with answering phones
 Assist all managers and co-workers in fulfilling the company mission statement
 Fully understand and abide by all rules and regulations contained within the Employee Handbook
 Additional duties as needed

Qualifications:

 Willing and capable to work LONG and HARD hours
 Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
 Display a positive disposition and patience with fans at all times
 Must have initiative; comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
 Ability to take direction and work with others
 Willingness to assist in the management of the game day staff
 Be accountable for managing cash and credit information
 Value organization, customer service, thoroughness, accountability and fun!
