Join this growing, results-driven, private equity infused consumer products business that operates in niche segments in which the strength of their brand names, established retail distribution network and their experienced management team are key to the company’s success. Due to promotions and growth, this company seeks additional talent at the Brand Manager level to plan and support brands targeted for domestic and international markets. This is an empowering and entrepreneurial setting that has attracted talent from global CPG leaders.
OPPORTUNITY: Report to VP level, have full brand P/L management, and be responsible for development and execution of brand marketing strategies for $30M brand that grew 4% last year. Scope of work would include exposure to a brand’s strategy, marketing plan, and the day in a life of a brand manager. This is a hands-on leadership role that will partner with product development, supply chain, finance, and sales. Be totally responsible for brand’s budget and P/L, pricing, packaging, advertising, trade merchandising, marketing programs, and promotion strategies.
Develop revenue, profit, and market share goals of brand(s). Analyze sales volumes, market share trends and competitive activity and develop action steps. Create and execute marketing initiatives and work collaboratively with agencies/vendors to deliver results. Be responsible for program management including logistics, timeline, budget, and performance analytics. Manage new product development through the stage gate process. Evaluate and analyze consumer insights to then develop and translate into strategic benefits and products. Develop selling proposition and launch support material. Provide sales with promotional materials for retailer presentations, new product launches, and category management.
REQUIREMENTS: BS/BA required; MBA a plus. Seek 5+ years of CPG marketing experience. Must be able to work in a fast paced, small, entrepreneurial environment with an emphasis on collective, collaborative teamwork. Must be a strategic thinker with strong problem solving, creativity, and resource management skills. First choice will be candidates coming from leading brands for OTC, cosmetics, household, food, nutritional, or wellness products. Ideal candidates may have started their career with Bayer, Eli Lily, GlaxoSmithKline, J&J, Kraft, Merck, PepsiCo, P&G, or Unilever.
