Program Manager

The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is located in the heart of downtown L.A. and is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. The Center for Asian Pacific Leadership at the University of Southern California's School of Social Work seeks an Associate Director (internal title: Program Manager) to develop, implement, and manage programs related to the Center's mission to provide innovative training for Asian-American and Asian-Pacific leaders confronting the social welfare challenges of the Pacific Rim. Of particular note is the Center's signature program, the Network of Korean American Leaders (NetKAL), the first nationally recruited leadership training, networking and mentorship program aimed at elevating the leadership capacity of the Korean American community.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong written and verbal communication skills (in English and an East Asian Language, preferably Korean or Mandarin Chinese), program development and management experience, understanding of budgets and financial reports, as well as marketing and events planning experience for promoting Accountabilities:
* Seeking an individual to manage the planning, organization and delivery of service and activities specific to the Center for Asian Pacific Leadership, including the NetKAL program. This individual will develop and implement Center's programming and assist the Director in program management, with administrative functions covering planning, budgeting, proposal development, and marketing of program services.
* Manages an academic, research, clinical or administrative program of the University. (Or manages a major component of a very large University program.) Typically reports to a faculty director or senior staff director also charged with program management responsibility. Directly supervises or manages program operations and administrative functions to include planning and scheduling, program evaluation, policy implementation, personnel administration, budget, marketing, fundraising and proposal development. Contributes to design of program content, policies and strategic planning efforts.
* Manage and enhance communications between program stakeholders, including USC administration, program members, Advisory Board members, and potential donors and program partners.
* Coordinate all program logistics including: room and venue scheduling, faculty availability, hotel, transportation, parking, catering and entertainment.
* Supervising and managing student workers, volunteers; lead others in the planning and delivery of services, activities and special events
* Develops strategies for marketing or promoting program to include market research and development of marketing plans, personal networking, newsletters and publications or other communications materials, and events planning.
* Serves as a key resource for program information. Resolves problems or questions referred by program staff, senior University administrators, or professionals outside the University.
