Summary:
The E&P Data Product Specialist (PS) is a subject matter expert, ideally recognized internally as well as externally by customers. A PS is a unique role that combines product management, training, customer care, sales, and product development. As a member of the Energy Technical Operations team, the PS works directly with customers and prospects to provide E&P workflow expertise (with a focus on IHS E&P data).
General Job Duties: * Supports sales staff and postsales activities in sales and business development activities * Facilitates omnidirectional "technical" communication between product management, technical sales, account management - directs customer feedback into product management for product evolution * Sources, creates, owns and manages localized demosets, technical white papers, etc. * Drives regional product positioning, "translates" global product marketing messaging into local context, participates in regional event planning, represents the IHS E&P data and related in regional events * Helps develop differentiating, innovative packaging and bundling of data, products and services, promotes cross sell pertaining to E&P data. * Works with IIO to manage regional alliances/partnerships specific to the E&P data, including Universities relations * Ensures Sales and Customer Care always current on respective technologies, facilitates the internal training process * Monitors competition, market share and pricing within the E&P data portfolio in APAC, provides feedback and input to IIO and Product Development. * Works closely with regional IIO, ensuring regional alignment with regards to data collection and aggregation, sets priorities tied to commercial value of the various attributes * Facilitate regional E&P data and related product user group meetings, performs product demonstrations and public presentations * Assists Customer Care as required on issues elevated to Tier 3 * Works with limited Supervision
Specific Job Duties:
* Understand and demonstrate the benefits and value proposition of IHS data products. * Work closely with the Sales team during post sales implementation of products. * Activities associated with Customer Care: * Where necessary, escalates customer issues to appropriate internal departments (Customer Care, IIO, PD&D, Energy Critical information) for resolution. * Responds to customer enquiries by utilizing specific domain knowledge. * Contacts customers as required for both the clarification of enquiries, and the researching of product requirements. * Responsible for Monthly data-related statistical reporting. * Assists Product Management with the development, testing and deployment of data delivery tools (such as EDIn and Enerdeq Desktop). Required Education: * University Degree (Petroleum Engineering, Proiduction Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Petrophysics, Geoscience, or related). Required Experience: * Acknowldeged and proven E&P data expertise. * Knowledge of competitive data products is an asset. * 5 years experience in a direct or related field. * Knowledge of the upstream energy E&P industry. * Member of (or past experience) Oil and Gas related industry- or professional- associations is an asset (ie SEAPEX, AAPG, SPE, CSPG, etc). Other Skills: * Strong presentation skills. * Must demonstratably understand the important role of Customers to an organization. * Observant, strong attention to detail, organized, investigative. * Able to contribute effectively in a team environment & enjoy working with multidisciplinary teams of IT Developers, Database Adminstrators, other Subject Matter Experts.
