Description
The Product Marketing Manager, as part of the Building Systems Marketing management team, is responsible for the development and implementation of short-term strategies for specific products and/or product lines; assists in developing the corresponding long-term strategies. Responsibilities include coordinating the implementation of short-term strategies and tactics through the efforts of functions such as sales, manufacturing, logistics, materials management, purchasing, research, technical service, credit, finance, and advertising. Monitors results and identifies/recommends/implements corrective actions.
Principal Responsibilities: - Four to eight brief statements indicating what is done (Action), how it is done (Method or Means) and why (End Result). (Use additional sheet of paper if necessary.)
• Establishes, executes and evaluates strategic product marketing plans and budgets to achieve marketing objectives for Building Systems' products and services.
• Structures, develops and manages the product marketing team capable of effectively carrying out the product marketing strategy and plans.
• Responsible for the overall profitability of products and product lines in Building System
• Effectively guides and inspires the team displaying a deep understanding of team member's needs and motivators and providing coaching and performance feedback, and applying fairness
• Profiling/understanding industry growth rates, size, cyclicality, barriers to entry/exit, general outlook, seasonality in order to develop the product strategy
• Profiling/understanding the competitor in areas such as: market share, product line, channel to market, price competitiveness, advertising effectiveness, production capacity/location & newness, relative product quality, R&D position, customer service, management and experience curve in order to develop the product strategy
• Manages product launch, positioning, packaging and pricing
• Develop, implement and refine standard operating procedures for marketing processes

Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience - What skills, training or experience are needed to perform the job?
• 5-10 years experience in a management role
• Construction Industry experience preferred
• Skill set on identifying and driving forward, relevant and long-term strategic opportunities from concept to reality
• Effectively guided and inspired teams during periods of change displaying a deep understanding of team member's needs and motivators
• Performed detailed market analysis, and implemented product marketing plans
Education
• BA degree in Business/Marketing
• MBA in Management/Marketing preferred
This position is within a job family and will be fillled as a level applicable to the incumbent's qualifications. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accrediation or equivalent.
