Product Line Manager - Plasma Cutting
Our client engages in the design, manufacture, marketing, sale, and distribution of welding and cutting torches, consumables, power sources, and accessories worldwide.
Our client has been setting the standard for flexibility, performance and value for advanced plasma cutting equipment for over 50 years. It's plasma power supplies, torches, and consumable parts are used in the construction, fabrication, and repair of steel and non ferrous metal products, including automobiles and related assemblies, appliances, ships, railcars, and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning products.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Drive product strategy and product development based on a profound understanding of the market needs
Conduct industry research on competition, market
trends, current and new technologies and global requirements
Identify global market risks and opportunities
Develop a strategy to improve current products, create new products
Define market positioning, manufacturing costs and features
Product Development:
Identify customer needs and communicate with Development Engineering
Product Support:
Develop product materials; support MARCOM in developing marketing materials, launch packages, website design/content
Provide expert support and training for end users, sales force and OEM contacts
Product Analysis:
Evaluate current product offer to maximize profitability, minimize cost: rationalization, standardization.
Qualifications:
Five plus years of progressively responsible business management experience including plasma, oxy, water or laser cutting equiptment and/or automation product line management.
Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to understand a market, conceptualize market opportunities, create a strategic vision and drive the business to achieve objectives.
Proven commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to think strategically prioritize effectively and achieve results.
Decisive management style; ability to work cross functionally with engineering and operations across other divisions of the company.
Experience leading engineering projects in a fast paced environment.
Strong analytical and marketing skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and / or business, Master’s degree preferred.
