Product Copywriter 1-2 days a week in Fremont
The Creative Group has an immediate need for a Product Copywriter for one of our retail clients. This is a part-time (1-2 days a week) ongoing contract in their photo studio in Fremont. You will attend photo shoots in September and generate product copy on the fly for several apparel categories for men, women and children. Superior wordsmithing and incredible eye for detail are required. You will work under tight deadlines and must be comfortable managing freelance workflow in a fun, fast-paced photo studio environment. The studio in Fremont and is not accessible by public transportation.
On a daily basis, you will write, edit, and proof online merchandise descriptions for apparel and accessory items for two major apparel brands. You will help expedite merchandise flow and act as liaison between Merchandise Manager, prep station, Stylists, and Studio Director to meet overall initiatives of the company. You will also be responsible for providing editorial direction as needed and proofing for all your written material. This position reports to the E-commerce Editor.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years experience as a copywriter and/ or online content editor in a retail/production environment. You should also have experience in fashion writing and terminology with basic understanding of textiles. A bachelor's degree in English preferred with impeccable attention to detail and grammar. You should understand retail customer communication methods and tiers. Strong MS Office/Word/ Excel proficiency is highly preferred.
