PR/New Media Assistant
A boutique public relations firm in the nations capital, seeks an entry-level professional to serve as a PR and New Media Assistant at its downtown office.
Track pertinent news clips and utilize online platforms, tools and communities, such as, though not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, SlidesShare, Foursquare and blogs to engage clients and stakeholders.
Contribute to the firms blog with at least one post per week.
Maintain and update the firms monthly online metrics report.
Conduct live interviews at events and transcribe them for use in various formats.
Generate and update press contact lists and other databases of target constituencies; conduct data entry and dissemination of information.
Prepare press kits, project reports, work updates and other documents for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide campaign support by fielding information requests, staffing media events, pitching story ideas and other related communication activities.
A graduate from a communications or journalism program, or relevant experience of 1-3 years.
Experience using social marketing platforms and tools, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, SlideShare, Foursquare and blogging in a professional setting.
Strong written and oral communications skills
Spanish language skills are highly desirable, but not required.
Comfortable in responding to fast-paced and shifting demands of multiple clients.
Previous public relations agency experience preferred.
