Job Description
Baxter's BioScience division is a leading producer of both plasma-based and recombinant clotting factors for hemophilia, as well as biopharmaceuticals used to treat immune deficiencies, alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency and other blood-related disorders. Baxter also produces vaccines for the prevention of infectious diseases, as well as biosurgery products used for hemostasis and tissue-sealing in surgery. Baxter BioScience's breadth and depth of expertise in recombinant protein manufacturing, plasma fractionation and proprietary Vero-cell vaccine manufacturing technologies set it apart from other companies in these fields.
The BioSurgery Orthobiologics Sales Specialist (OSS) will focus on products in the Orthobiologics surgical area and be responsible for sales activities including new account development and/or expanding existing accounts within an established geographic territory. Shares job expertise and provides guidance to other sales reps. Additional responsibilities include the following:
1. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers including surgeons, nurses and operating room staff.
2. Develops and implements sales strategies with focus at the local, regional and national levels. This includes forecasting and identifying current and future market potential for the surgical use for the BioSurgery Orthobiologics portfolio.
3. Maintains and increases on label usage of Baxter products in the surgical suite through participation in surgical procedures, in-servicing and educational presentations.
4. Monitors product sales and works closely with Marketing, Customer Service and Customer Operations to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
5. Provides feedback to immediate supervisor and marketing personnel for the development of marketing policy, recommended product and product line revisions as well as pricing changes.
6. Attends regional and local Surgical Conferences.
7. Provides feedback regarding product simplification and standardization to enhance profitability of sales line.
8. Works closely with other sales representatives to increase penetration of products in accounts

•Position will have an assigned geographic territory which may span several states. Travel is required (up to 60%) and may involve visits to remote or urban areas either individually or with other personnel.
•Individuals must live within the current geography or be willing to relocate to it. Familiarity with posted territory strongly desired.
•Strong knowledge of BioSurgery customer base.

•Ability to exhibit analytical, strategic and creative thinking, as well as planning and developing people.
•Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills.

•Embraces and promotes change. Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 5 years of relevant medical device/healthcare sales experience within an operating room environment. The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience in Spine, Orthopedics and other surgical specialties. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is required. Proven sales performance and the ability to manage a large territory required. Valid driver's license is required.
