Role Summary/Purpose


Business/Org Communications Manager fis responsible for partnering with assignment business organizations in the development and deployment of the business leader’s employee communications strategy, keeping alignment with GE Healthcare’s overall communications strategy and global messaging. This role reports directly to the Business Communications/ Org Comms Leader.


Essential Responsibilities


1. Assist in the delivery of an integrated business communications plan, working with the Public Relations and Marketing Communications teams. This plan consists of common goals, objectives and operating mechanisms that result in the strategic co-ordination of the team’s activities. This deliverable ensures consistent messaging and maximum visibility of business products and leaders, both internally and externally, with all key stakeholders.



  • Assist the Business Communications Leader/Org Comms Manager in the development and deployment of the HCS business’s employee communications strategy, keeping alignment with GE Healthcare’s overall communications strategy and global messaging

  • Partner with multiple HCS P&L Leaders to assist in the development and execution of strategic communications plans and programs which support:
    a. The business P&L leader and senior business leaders including HR
    b. Key business initiatives and new product introductions in addition to our healthymagination initiative
    c. Significant business actions including acquisition, integration, restructuring, union negotiation and consolidation communications
    d. Local events such as Community Service Days, volunteering and charitable activities

  • Manage key business communication vehicles including newsletters, townhall events, webcasts, webchats, employee roundtables, customer testimonials, and the intranet. Assist the Business Communications Leader in the execution of written business updates, leadership conference calls, speech writing, and leadership field and plant visits. Assess all vehicles for effectiveness and update accordingly.

  • Partner with HR to communicate the administration and results of employee feedback mechanisms including the GE Opinion Survey. Assist with communication strategies that will address significant business issues and areas of concern.

  • Work with GE Healthcare’s Global Communications team on cross-business opportunities, development of common processes and programs such as manager communications training, GE Values, global telecasts, Olympics, and healthcare issues.

  • Develop meaningful and actionable metrics to measure reach and effectiveness of business/GEHC communications.

  • Assist the Crisis Communications team as necessary on any specific business issue.

  • Ensure all employee messages are globally aligned with the strategic requirements of GE Healthcare.


Qualifications/Requirements


1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or a related field and a minimum of two years fulltime, professional level communications experience.



  • Must have the ability to execute strategic communications plans and also deliver at the tactical level

  • Strong written communication, presentation and planning skills with demonstrated experience speaking and writing clearly and convincingly

  • Experience working across multiple levels and functions; able to clearly communicate complex information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver key messages effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to work effectively with senior leadership

  • Experience with and knowledge of print, video and web technologies

  • Working knowledge of English language (oral and written)
