The 3M Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division (OH&ESD) is a leading supplier of safety and protection solutions.

The Eyewear, Head and Face Protection Product Marketer, located in St. Paul, MN, will be responsible for developing and executing strategies and operational plans for the OH&ESD US Subsidiary Eyewear, Head and Face Protection businesses, with particular focus on new product introductions, promotional programs, and portfolio management (e.g., demand planning, back orders, pricing, etc.).

The Eyewear, Head and Face Protection Product Marketer will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
· Achieve product portfolio annual forecast and goals
· Develop and execute strategic and operational plans. Lead/participate in cross-functional sales, marketing, and business teams tasked with creating and updating said plans. Drive plans through to
completion. Track, measure, and report on performance/results. Complete contracts, control plans, and debriefs/post-mortem analyses, and make recommendations for improvement/future development
opportunities.
· Identify, develop/establish and implement effective and appropriate go-to-market business/market segment models
· Develop and implement on-line and off-line literature/content, tools and training to drive sales as needed, appropriately working with US Subsidiary, division, and other company resources
· Establish and cultivate key/relevant business/industry contacts and relationships
· Participate with the OH&ESD US Subsidiary CFM Partner Divisions as appropriate/necessary to maximize sales opportunities/activities, and serve the needs of key markets and accounts
· Serve as OH&ESD US Subsidiary marketing representative in relationships with the OH&ESD Global Eyewear, Head and Face Protection Groups
· Participate in US Subsidiary and division Emergency Response Teams, as appropriate/necessary, when convened
· Identify and pursue alliance and acquisition opportunities, new business models, and segments of opportunities as appropriate

Other activities the Eyewear, Head and Face Protection Product Marketer will be responsible for may include:
· Analyze and understand OH&ESD US Subsidiary products, markets, and channels
· Work with cross-functional teams including Sales, Product/Channel Marketing, Communications, Branding/Interactive Marketing, Business Development, Technical Service/Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc. to:
- Engage with and support initiatives, activities, tradeshows, and other events
- Develop marketing business strategies and operational plans for new and existing products and portfolio programs in conjunction with other business leaders
- Adjust business/marketing strategies and operational plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions
- Work with the OH&ESD US Subsidiary sales and finance teams in support of the OH&ESD US Subsidiary Price Deviation Process
- Work with OH&ESD Supply Chain and Customer Service teams to manage demand planning, backorders, and other customer related needs/issues
- Develop and deliver product training to sales representatives, division personnel, channel partners/associates, distributors and/or customers
- Work with the US Subsidiary, division, Big B, and corporate resources to identify/determine marketing research, PR and/or advertising needs/direction and plan of action to address
- Develop and execute projects to continuously improve efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness
- Establish and manage a budget to meet business objectives
- Actively participate in relevant division, Big B, and/or Corporate programs/initiatives

We are looking for an individual who possesses leadership qualities that can be used in diverse, cross-functional teams. This individual should be able to analyze and interpret industry data and trends, customer (e.g., distribution, end-users, etc.) requirements, and business objectives and opportunities. Problem solving may require determining solutions for problems that may require interpretation and analysis for different situations. These abilities should be tied together to drive plans, programs and sales with creativity, innovation and solid analytical skills. The successful individual should be able to align these plans and programs with proper goals, metrics and financial expectations for success. They should be able to negotiate and counsel, justify controversial positions and demonstrate persuasion skills.

There needs to be an appropriate balance between strategic and operational focus with an appropriate attention to detail/analysis, consistently demonstrating flawless execution and follow through on deliverables/responsibilities, to ensure timely, "comprehensive" business results. This individual will need to build on initial OH&ESD US Subsidiary efforts to grow the Eyewear, Head and Face Protection businesses and capitalize on opportunities. They will need to develop and implement aggressive "defend and grow" strategies and operational plans that are "practical" as well as effective and "market-centric," achieve forecasts, and work within budget/resource constraints. The person must work with marketing, communications, sales, business management and others to chart bigger strategic vision/plans to move all initiatives forward. They must also ensure an appropriate level of self-initiative, analysis and attention to detail are applied to all activities, focusing on top priorities/needs, with adequate responsiveness, and appropriate investment of time and efforts. The individual must navigate complex situations and organizational challenges. Flexibility, urgency, managing ambiguity, and leadership, in response to multiple priorities and constraints, and limited data and communications, will be critical.

The Eyewear, Head and Face Protection Product Marketer should be comfortable working within a matrix organization with an appropriate "entrepreneurial" attitude of taking the business to a new level by identifying and communicating opportunities, and translating this into concrete, realistic, and relevant action plans which they execute and manage through to completion.

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.


Basic/ Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree
· Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience
· Minimum 1 year of product marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree with concentration in Marketing, Marketing Management or other Business Related Degree; MBA preferred
· Proven track record of consistently delivering measurable results; results driven
· Experience leading diverse, cross functional, high-performing teams
· Self starter who can effectively work in a fast paced environment and work through and manage change/ambiguity, with an appropriate sense of urgency
· Understands and anticipates market data/trends and customer needs (e.g., distribution, end-user, etc.)
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to present to variety of audiences (internal and external).
· Solid analytical skills; ability to move analysis to insight and opportunity identification
· Experience/skills with on-line and interactive marketing, and social media
· Business and financial acumen
· Broad understanding and knowledge of 3M OH&ESD US Subsidiary products, services, processes, systems, technologies and channels, and applicable government regulations, is a plus.
