The states largest and oldest physician organization, the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA), is seeking an experienced marketing communications professional to fill the open position of Strategic Marketing Director. Summary: Serves on behalf of the Association and its members to market OSMA membership, products and services. Captures and analyzes data to plan future campaigns and marketing/communication tactics. Helps establish marketing strategies and works with communications team to execute these strategies to meet organizational objectives. Develops marketing and communication pieces based on the OSMA marketing plan. Monitors, reviews and reports on all marketing activity and results. Ensures that marketing and communication pieces accurately reflect the OSMA brand in content and appearance. Manages the OSMAs website so that it fits as part of the overall marketing and communication messaging and promotion. Stays current with emerging marketing and communication tools to attract younger membership segments. Trains others, as needed, on internal OSMA communication-related technology and tools. Relentlessly pursues attracting less-interested, hard-to-reach segments of OSMA membership. Is imbued in all activities and deliverables. Tracks and manages on-going projects, and contribute to OSMAs strategy and objectives via work produced. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Creates and manages a consistent message and look for the Association in print materials and online. Researches, writes, edits, assists with design and provides overall management of Ohio Medicine (a bi-monthly print magazine publication) and OSMA This Week (a weekly electronic blast) exclusively geared toward OSMA members. Researches, writes, edits and assists with design of marketing and communication materials. Works with communications team to constantly review, edit and seek to improve Association website as well as marketing and communication materials. Assists in developing individual marketing campaigns as well as overall marketing plan to attract and retain members, sell OSMA products and services and gain attendance for education events. Creates and executes marketing pieces as defined by overall marketing plan. Trains others, as needed, on OSMA tools and technology. Reviews and tracks marketing and communication activities and results against objectives. Develops tools to gain data from members on various subjects to be used in future planning. Assists association-wide with development, management, and enforcement of guidelines regarding OSMA brand. Contributes to formation and management of the communications budget. Willingly performs other duties as assigned on occasion, as is expected of all OSMA staff. Education and/or Experience: Requires a Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) in Communications or Marketing from four-year college or university; minimum of three to five years related experience working in an agency, media and/or public relations; Experience within the health-care industry and public affairs a plus.
