Marketing Manager
The Marketing Department develops and implements strategic marketing and communications plans to support both fee-based and community programs. The Department works closely with Aquatics, Fitness, Membership and Youth Sports to drive sales and increase brand awareness. The Department also works closely with the Development department to raise awareness of Asphalt Green's free community programs and to solicit funding. The Department is responsible for all internal and external marketing, including advertising, collateral materials, direct mail, customer communications, public relations, research, signage, social networking and the Web site. Function: Within a highly collaborative department, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for the timely scheduling, production and measurement of events, ad campaigns, direct mail and media placements. The position reports to the Marketing Director, works with two graphic artists and a Webmaster, and oversees the Marketing Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong creative streak (thinking brainstorming!) and a facility for long-range planning. Responsibilities: - Manage the overall production of marketing materials and projects, ensuring the Marketing Coordinator adheres to production timelines and quality standards. - Measure and report on marketing initiatives, including collection and compilation of data from mailings, promotions, and special events. - Maintain year-long marketing schedule. - Maintain media list, prepare and distribute press releases, and monitor coverage. - Work with graphic artists to produce quarterly catalog, gathering data from various departments and ensuring that it is packaged effectively to maximize sales. - Manage internal and external promotions to ensure that information is accurately communicated in a timely manner to the right audiences, working with the Marketing Coordinator to handle distribution. - Compile and write customer newsletters sent via PatronMail (similar to Constant Contact), tracking success rates and maintaining preference lists. - Prepare and field online customer satisfaction surveys using SurveyMonkey as well as analyze the data and prepare reports. - Handle special projects as requested by the Marketing Director. Additional Qualifications: Qualifications: Previous marketing experience (3-5 years) is required, preferably in community-based organizations or sports and recreation. Direct experience in market research is desired. Excellent organizational skills including a demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communications skills both verbal and written; writing experience is essential. Computer literacy a must. Experience with email newsletter programs (Constant Contact, PatronMail, etc.) and survey programs (SurveyMonkey) is highly desirable.
