JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for identifying opportunities for and coordinating and maintaining all agency external communications in order to raise visibility of organization and keep the public informed and aware of agency services, activities and accomplishments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Creates standards and oversees the branding of agency print and electronic communications.
2. Plans and implements creative and effective use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter, and creates community links to the agency website.
3. Writes copy for, designs and coordinates the production and printing of traditional communications such as mailings to funders, pamphlets, the annual report, fundraising materials and the client handbook. Includes initial design, creation and maintenance of some marketing pieces such as agency and program overviews.
4. Develops and maintains monthly e-newsletter, agency website, corporate packets, media packets and periodic advocacy alerts.
5. Assists in the promotion of special events such as the Hope for the Children Luncheon and Toyland Ball as requested by Development department.
6. Coordinates public relations events such as photo shoots, press conferences and the agency’s activities during Child Abuse Prevention Month.
7. Develops benchmarks by which to evaluate success of marketing communications efforts,and applies appropriate performance and quality improvements.
8. Attends and/or represents the agency at meetings and other community events as requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Skill and proficiency in the desktop use of Microsoft Office products, social media platforms, HTML and/or web-design software.
2. Excellent oral and written communication and language skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
4. Strong sense of self-direction and decision-making ability.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop positive relations with all sectors of the agency and community.
6. Ability to represent The Parent Child Center at community events and functions in a professional and courteous manner.
7. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and respond with appropriate discretion and diplomacy.
8. Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications preferred.
9. Experience in non-profit or social services
