Do you have the interpersonal skills to manage a creative services team If so, a mid-size medical technology company is growing rapidly and looking for a Manager of Marketing Communications to help take them to the next level. With 15% revenue growth last year and three new products to launch in the next two years, this dynamic organization is expanding globally. A significant part of their long-term growth strategy is to expand and develop a very immature market for their lead products, so they need a creative individual who can think strategically and execute flawlessly. This is a supervisory role in a high-growth, dynamic business where most of the employees have come from large drug or device organizations and prefer smaller companies; as a result their teams have unusually strong personal chemistry. If you have a collaborative management style and experience managing the production process of Marketing collateral this could be the opportunity for you.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager of Marketing Communications will lead a team of 6-7 creative services personnel, including Designers, a Trafficker, Webmaster and Compliance Coordinator. In this high profile assignment you will run an in-house ad agency for a 300M book of business, working mostly on print and on-line communications projects for products in the Neurology market. You will be the primary interface with external agencies and be responsible for negotiating contracts and ensuring quality and timeliness from your third party partners. You will develop and manage budgets and provide general oversight for each promotional project. The Manager will create a Center of Excellence within the organization, where process standards for marketing communications are created, implemented and highly valued by brand teams and other departments.
Other duties include working closely with cross-functional team members to understand and help create the long-term strategic plans for each product. You and your team will work on positioning and branding strategies, messaging, trade show planning, and website development. This is a broadly defined leadership role wear you will “wear many hats,” and your performance will directly impact the success of the organization. You will be asked to create and implement programs that overcome physician resistance to new clinical options, as well as direct-to-consumer initiatives that drive more patients into their doctor’s offices to seek help for their condition. Overnight travel is estimated at 15%. This is a vital role in a rapidly expanding organization, so there are significant opportunities for career development and advancement.
The successful candidate will have:
1. 6+ years of Marketing Communications or Advertising experience, including some direct work with medical products (Biotech, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device / Equipment, Diagnostics)
2. 3+ years of experience directly supervising Marketing Communications personnel
3. Product launch experience and close attention to detail
4. Experience managing the production process for Marketing Collateral
5. Bachelor’s degree or better; MBA preferred

SALARY: $100,000 - $125,000
BONUS: 10% Bonus
