Litigation Solution Business Development Executive (Large Law) Los Angeles, CA

The Litigation Solution Business Development Executive (LSDE) is a blended role that combines the sophisticated skills of a solutions sales executive with targeted product expertise responsibilities within Thomson Reuters Legals litigation solution suite.   The LSDE partners with local sales teams to enable litigation solution sales, ensuring each process milestone are achieved to progress the sale through the sales process.  As an expert in litigation workflow, the LSDE  serves as primary product advocate across their respective territory, ensuring all internal and external sales roles are equipped with effective tools and resources to develop robust product pipeline and drive sales.  This territory will be based in Los Angeles, CA. Extensive travel required.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Achieve or exceed annual litigation software sales quota.
  • Use analytics to actively define and enable product opportunity within territory, assertively partnering with sales team, including internal account management, to realize goals.
  • Utilize knowledge of law firm business and litigation workflows to diagnose and position value-added solutions offering to promote business growth and  increase Litigation sales and customer retention
  • Lead sales calls, create and deliver customized presentations (in person or online) and provide written proposals and subject-matter expertise for solutions products for strategic deals
  • Serve as sales process champions for litigation suite products , consulting on new enhancements and educating sales constituents on features, functionality and associated positioning,  in cooperation with SAM Training
  • Advocate for solutions sales with internal colleagues, surfacing known issues and enhancement ideas to drive technical improvements or product development efforts.
  • Partner with Product Development, Segment Marketing and the Litigation business to enable effective sales collateral and customer presentations to be leveraged across broader sales team.  Includes coaching on product scripts for all steps of West Large Law Sales Playbook.
  • Consult on successful implementation post-sale partnering with internal/external technology and account management partners, to enable seamless on-boarding, training and product adoption. 
  • Complement SAM Training and Segment Marketing efforts to assist in training LLF team on product positioning and sales process via conference calls, WebEx and in-person trainings to drive product knowledge and sales
  • Operate as an integral member of the LLF sales team, contributing skills and knowledge to creation and ongoing management of National Account Plans
  • Contribute to strategic development of new sales revenues and client retention opportunities  by coordinating targeted campaigns or awareness events for field teams to engage specific firms
  • Build strong "trust" relationships with clients, creating confidence and credibility at multiple levels, from users to C-level executives
  • Attend sales meetings, trade shows and divisional meetings as required

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Exhibits strong consultative selling skills and a motivation to progress prospects towards a sale in collaboration with sales partners
  • Understands and can apply Wests complex solutions sales process
  • Able to apply product knowledge, high-level presentation and demonstration skills to advance the sales process, from diagnosing need, to developing a solution package for the customer, continuing through to the sale close
  • Able to effectively manage a large territory and collaborate with internal and external sales colleagues to advance sales and achieve territory quota
