LASER SERVICE TECHNICIAN
NovaMed Corporation is seeking a full-time LASER FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN proficient in repairing and maintaining a variety of laser (ophthalmology, dermatology, general surgery) and other complex medical equipment in healthcare environments.
This field service position based in Trumbull, CT, supports clients primarily in the Northeastern U.S. and will require occasional travel to other US locations and occasional paid overtime. Additional Biomedical Equipment experience in repair and service of general biomedical equipment will be given preference for this position. This position reports to the Supervisor of Biomedical Service Operations. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: o Performing routine repair & preventive maintenance o Inspecting, testing, calibrating equipment, devices & systems o Running diagnostic programs and interpreting results o General troubleshooting and problem resolution o Preparing timely and accurate documentation o Following policies, procedures, protocols, regulatory standards & codes o Maintaining excellent customer & vendor relationships o Attending and participating in meetings as appropriate (safety committees, state inspections, etc.) o Entering data and producing reports in computerized systems o Providing verbal and written reports to management o Maintaining equipment and documentation to meet Joint Commission and other regulatory standards. O Recommending new equipment and testing procedures O Assisting with maintenance of accurate equipment inventories O Providing in-service training for team personnel
Requirements:
Your resume should demonstrate your qualifications: o AS Degree: Electronics/Biomedical/Related OR Relevant Military Training o BMET certification preferred o Minimum of 3 years of successful work history repairing and maintaining YAG, CO2, and other types of lasers o List of certifications of laser equipment service training and laser safety training o Knowledge of electronic principles and ability to interpret technical diagrams for a variety of devices o Understanding of basic anatomy and physiology related to functions of biomedical equipment o Good English language skills to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external staff o PC software proficiency (MS OUTLOOK,WORD, EXCEL preferred) o Excellent references and demonstrated quality customer service skills o Current knowledge of Joint Commission standards, other regulations, healthcare safety protocols, etc. o History of attention to detail and on-time paperwork completion
In addition, this position requires: o Ability to report reliably to work, with minimal supervision. o Reliable personal transportation, with appropriate level of insurance for business use. o Good manual dexterity & hand-eye coordination to work with small parts, tools, etc. o Color vision to determine wiring and other safety coding. o Ability to lift, move up to 50 lbs. equipment, tools, etc.
