Network Administrator - IT MANAGER SCOPE The Information Technology Manager is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks. The Information Technology Manager reports to the Senior Administrative Officer and manages and provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Manage information technology and computer systems Maintains organization s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing EDP Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development Meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines Hire and manage information systems personnel and contractors to design, develop, implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks and information systems Control the computer systems budgets and expenditures Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action. 2. Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center. Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures. Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. 3. Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system Be familiar with all hardware and software network operating system Provide orientation to new users of existing technology, individual training and support on request Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects. Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
