We are seeking a Communications Manager with Internal Communications or Employee Communications experience.
This position, which reports to the Global Head of Internal Communication, will be a key player in helping Marsh to achieve our vision of being "the BEST insurance broker, intermediary and risk advisor." The company is aggressively building toward that vision, with an emphasis on making Marsh a great place to work for outstanding people, innovating on behalf of our clients and optimizing systems and processes as part of a culture of continuous improvement.
The demand for effective internal communication at Marsh has never been greater. As we improve our client offerings, our operations and our culture, the Internal Communication function helps our colleagues understand our strategic priorities, our performance and the role employees play in Marshs success. We partner with the firms leadership to engage our colleagues in Marshs change efforts - fostering pride in the firm and support of our strategy to create outstanding performance. We are seeking a candidate to complement our global team who will work across a wide variety of communication challenges that are critical to Marshs success.
The position will be based in New York City.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic counsel to leaders on best communication practices and recommend approaches
Create and execute communication plans, announcements, presentations, talking points and Q&As in support of strategic objectives
Manage internal communication research and reporting to assess and improve the impact of communication efforts in achieving company objectives
Participate in the development of a new global internal communication platform to enable greater knowledge sharing and collaboration worldwide
Write, proofread, edit and publish stories on company intranet which demonstrate progress against our company strategy and our Operating Principles in action
Assist in the development of messaging, discussion guides, toolkits, and training to strengthen the communication skills of managers
Assist in efforts to foster and align the global internal communication community through common metrics, messaging, project plans, measurement and reporting
Develop and manage video, podcast and WebEx and town hall meeting production in support of key initiatives; develop scripts, interview protocols, etc. as required
Skills
Outstanding verbal, writing, proofing and editorial skills
Demonstrated knowledge and experience using technology-based communications; experience with content management systems preferred
Proficiency in HTML code preferred
Strong project management skills
Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling and influential communication
Knowledge of internal communication metrics and measurement methodologies;
Skilled in survey design and reporting - Survey Monkey or similar research technologies
Ability to deliver projects on time and on budget
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced PowerPoint skills
Experience
7-10 years employee communication experience in large agency or multinational corporation
Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and execute strategic communication plans and change programs that advance the objectives of the organization
Professional, financial services or insurance experience a plus
