Title Global Client Activity Specialist AutoReqId 12488BR Functional Area Global Client Support Experience Level 2-5 years Work Location Los Angeles, CA (Downtown) Full Time / Part Time Full Time Position Description We are seeking a Global Client Activity Associate to work within the Global Client Activity Team. This position will be primarily responsible for coordinating the investment and operational areas of our institutional business during the start-up phase of new accounts, on going contributions and withdrawals, and other significant account transitions. This position interfaces frequently with large institutional clients and their service providers such as transition managers, custodian banks, and record keepers. In coordinating these account activities, the associate will need to ensure that the affected areas within the organization are prepared to meet the requirements of each client transition.
The associate is expected to provide leadership during the account take on and/or transition process considering factors such as client needs, business impacts, resources, and operational risk, and recommend solutions to the impacted areas where needed. Additionally the coordinator will act as primary point of escalation for affected business areas during periods of client activity and organize additional or ad-hoc communication with the client as necessary.
Other responsibilities include preparing letters or other legal documentation for the account start-up, identifying unusual or non-standard client requests and reviewing them with the appropriate business units for discussion, and disseminating relevant account information to the appropriate internal departments. Our environment is collaborative. You can expect to have extensive interaction with others within your own team as well as in other groups. You will be expected to stay apprised of all internal protocols and processes in additional to current US and global issues, Capital Group standards, and regulatory compliance. Hiring Criteria * Bachelor's degree
* Financial Services experience preferred
* Background in accounting or operations preferred
* Strong communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex investment or operational issues, articulate key considerations during escalation calls with senior management, and speak directly with clients
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills to identify potential complications with client activity and to work towards avoiding them
* Leadership skills, comfortable taking the lead in group situations, pro-active with ideas and suggestions
* Good judgment and decision making skills; recognizing when to escalate an issue to other business areas (including legal)
* Flexibility to work in a fast paced environment, handling multiple tasks with the ability to adjust priorities to meet changing client timelines/requests.
* Project management skills, the ability to keep work projects (e.g. new accounts and other transitions) moving forward over medium to longer term periods
* Strong organizational skills, ability to keep many different business areas up to date on client activity, also ability to organize and facilitate conference calls involving a large number of departments and participants
In addition, you must be able to:
* Work with team members and other groups in a coordination role to delivery a high standard of service to clients
* Be a resource to team members and to other business groups by answering questions, sharing opinions and perspectives, and participating on or leading special projects
* Be able to work some additional hours during peak business periods
