General Manager- MusicThe General Manager shall be responsible for the following: DIRECT REPORTS The General Manager has the following direct reports: - Orchestra Personnel Manager - Librarian & Outreach Coordinator - Production Manager & Assistants In addition, the General Manager will work closely with the Artistic Advisor/Music Director, Development Director, Marketing Director, Director of Patron Services, Director of Education & Community Engagement, and Finance Manager. ARTISTIC OPERATIONS - Work with Artistic Advisor / Music Director and senior management on development of concert programs - Prepare budgets for performances and other projects using the musicians - Coordinate all the issues related to the orchestra's musicians, guest artists and facilities, including development and negotiation of contracts with venues, guest conductors and guest artists, and oversight of the preparation of schedules and rosters of orchestra musicians, musician payroll, and audition preparation. - Attend rehearsals and performances to coordinate personnel issues and make sure that the orchestra is in compliance with contracts for services and guest artists. - Manage/Oversee all logistics of venues, personnel, instruments and equipment for tours and run-outs. - Interact with musicians, artistic administration, artist managers, and facility management. - Maintain schedules, manage tours and run- outs, and oversee compliance with vendor and union contracts. - Manage projects in Recording and Electronic Media EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - Work with the Director of Education & Community Engagement and/or the Executive Director to develop, implement, and monitor educational and community engagement programs leveraging the musician and production resources of the orchestra.
