Job Title: Advancement Intern Department: Advancement Reports to: Grants and Prospect Research Manager Status: 10-20 hours a week; unpaid; credit available, based upon college or university support. Description: Applicants should understand that hours can be long and that the ability to multi-task and demonstrate initiative are crucial to a successful experience. There is no predictable day. A sense of humor is very helpful. A background and/or career interest in one or more of the following disciplines is recommended: Fundraising Writing Communications / Public Relations / Marketing Nonprofit Management Education Career Benefits: Museum of Glass provides a dynamic learning environment for visitors to appreciate the medium of glass through creative experiences, collections and exhibitions. The selected intern(s) will be provided with an immersive experience in the Museums diverse, multi-functional development department focused on members, individual donors, and organizational giving partners. Duties: The duties below are an indication of the type of activities you might expect from the internship. Individual skills, departmental need, and length of internship will dictate assigned activities. assist with membership and donor mailings; assist with gift processing, acknowledgment and report generation; research foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities; research potential individual donors and/or Trustee candidates; draft and proof written materials including letters, proposals, and reports; and/or, other administrative duties associated with fundraising, as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must be enrolled at a college or university, or have a college or university degree. Recommended Skills: competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; verbal and written fluency in English; and, flexibility and sense of humor.
