The North American Transaction Marketing Team assesses all PayPal products and offers and recommends which ones to offer to customers while they are transacting with PayPal through the website. Since most customer interactions today are within on-line transactions, this channel is one of the most important in driving long term success of the North American Region.
One of the most important drivers of customer lifetime value is consumer usage of lower cost payment methods, such as bank accounts (via ach) proprietary credit (PayPal branded and BillMeLater branded) and PayPal balance. This position will be responsible for marketing lower cost payment methods to consumers in North America.
We are looking for an individual who is great at understanding the customer's mindset (by segment), and then executing the right marketing strategies based on that mindset. The individual should have strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to drive change within a matrixed organization. Most importantly, the individual will have high integrity and a passion for great marketing.
Some of the responsibilities would include:
Understanding the customer mindset - by segment, through research and analytics.
Understanding the underlying drivers of payment method offer effectiveness and profitability.
Developing the most effective ways to utilize some of PayPal's most valuable marketing assets (signup, checkout, transactional emails, etc.)
Recommending the best strategies to increase lifetime value of consumers.
Translating those strategies into actionable marketing plans coupled with great execution.
Leading cross functional teams to make the best decisions based on data.
Establishing the right metrics to drive the best outcomes across the organization.
Influencing and shaping the thinking of key executives across a matrixed organization.
Basic Qualifications:
Four + years of consumer or small business marketing experience.
Four + years of online direct response marketing experience across a variety of channels (e.g. Email, Display, SEM, etc.)
History of delivering measurable results using rigorous test/control methodologies.
History of working effectively with creative talent - including writing creative briefs and driving great results.
Experience effectively leading cross-functional teams in a large matrixed organization
Ability to deliver quality work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
Demonstrated strong analytical skills and experience.
Cross selling experience is a big plus.
Candidates with experience in the following industries would be desirable: credit/debit card, ecommerce, online/interactive marketing (preferred)
